ABOUT

The Desperado Track Club is a group that focuses on the development and progression of high school distance runners. As current and former Division 1 cross country and track athletes with over 15 years of experience in the sport, we have learned a great deal about the sport and what it takes to maximize your training. We recognize that each athlete is different and therefore needs a training plan customized to their background.

With our experience and the knowledge that we have gathered along the way, we can help you:

  • Develop Great Training Habits

  • Improve Prerace Preparation

  • Prepare for Race Day

The Desperado Track Club offers several services that will help you reach your goals:

  • Personalized Training Plans

  • Weekly Phone Calls

  • Unlimited Text/Email Contact

  • Recruiting Guidance

Based on your training experience, development, and goals we will build a training plan that is unique to you. Along with this training plan, we will have weekly phone calls with you to discuss how you are handling the training and make adjustments if needed. Finally, we will guide you through the recruiting process, help you connect with college coaches, and help you land a spot at your dream school.

We are looking for athletes who are passionate about the sport and want to reach their full potential in the sport. If you want to reach your full potential and run at your dream school, please fill out a “connect form” and we will reach out to set up a meeting!

Ret is a former cross country and track athlete at Texas Tech University. At Texas Tech, Ret was part of the cross country Big 12 Championship team in three seasons and part of the Mountain Region team in two of his seasons. Ret had a personal best of 24:53 in the 8k.

 

Prior to Texas Tech, Ret attended a small high school in Lubbock, TX where he was a five-time TAPPS state champion. Ret had a personal best of 9:37 in the 3200 meter run in high school.

LEE
TAYLOR

COACH

Lee is an incoming Division 1 cross country and track athlete at Texas Tech University. In high school, Lee was a seven-time state champion with personal bests of 4:14 in the 1600, 9:13 in the 3200.

 

In high school, Lee followed a similar training to what will be provided through the Desperado Track Club and made significant improvements each year of his high school career.

  • In the 1600, Lee progressed as follows:

    • 5:11-4:37-4:21-4:14

  • In the 3200, Lee progressed as follows:

    • 11:27-10:15-9:34-9:13
